Planet Armageddon - Probability, 2050 ?

Unchecked, the combination of global warming and population growth will result in a clear and extreme danger to civilisation. The Planet by 2050 will be unable to achieve a sustainable economy. The question is,do we really care? If we are over 30 we are unlikely to be present, and if we are under 30 we are  likely to be more interested in who wins "Britain's got Talent" , "The X Factor", or similar garbage.

Global Warming

Since the industrial revolution, concentrates of carbon dioxide and methane have increased by 36% and 148% respectively. Fossil fuel burning has produced three quarters of the increase, the rest is caused by deforestation. The effects of these increases will include more frequent occurrence of extreme weather including heatwaves, drought and heavy rainfall.

Vulnerability of human societies to climate change mainly lies in the effects of extreme weather events rather than gradual climate change in the short term. in the long term a warming of eleven percent would put half the worlds population in an uninhabitable environment. Over the twenty first century, climate change is likely to adversely effect hundreds of millions of people through increased flooding, reduction in water supplies, increased malnutrition and increased health impacts. In a world where seas are rising and many species are becoming extinct, conflict for dwindling resources will become commonplace

Global warming increases are driven by population growth.

Over Population

Overpopulation is a condition where  organism numbers exceed the carrying capacity of its habitat. The term often refers to the relationship between the human population and its environment, the Earth. The recent rapid increase in human population over the past two centuries has raised concerns that humans are overpopulating the Earth and that the planet may not be able to sustain present or larger numbers of inhabitants. The planets population is expected to rise from 7 billion to 10 billion by 2050. Here in the U.K. we are likely to be one of the hardest hit, for not only is the northern hemisphere heating up quicker than the southern hemisphere, but also our density of population is the second highest in Europe.

Top scientists indicate that humans are 10,000 times more common than we should be,and in order to achieve a sustainable economy and avert disaster world population will have to be reduced by two-thirds.This is not the prognosis of a few professors, immersed in academic unreality.

This is Fact
